Published prior to the 1970 implementation of a Paterson, New Jersey, Title III early childhood program for 120 pre-kindergarten and 120 kindergarten aged disadvantaged children, the bulletin describes the school and student population, the evaluation procedure, differences between experimental and control groups, results of pretesting, the eight proposed teacher workshops, and use of instructional television in the program. Preliminary information provided includes a mean score of 70 on the PVT and percentages of children who passed each item on the Skills Assessment and Identity tests. Noted are a planned workshop on the use of instructional television and development of local television programs to teach concepts such as part-whole relationships.
