The Academic Melting Pot: Catholics and Jews in American Higher Education.
The author asserts that "historically, Catholic and Jewish immigrants started life in America with radically different value orientations with respect to education and intellectual achievement." He concludes that in this century the resulting imbalance in the participation of these groups in higher education is being redressed as the bulk of Catholic immigrants are integrated into American life.
