IGE/MUS-E First Year Implementation Cost Survey. Final Report.
Evers, Nancy A.
The purpose of this study was to identify any increase or decrease in expenditures among a stratified sample of schools during their first year of implementing the system of Individually Guided Education in the Multiunit Elementary School (IGE/MUS-E). IGE/MUS-E is a comprehensive educational system incorporating several innovative educational developments including nongraded multiaged grouping patterns, shared decisionmaking, differentiated staffing, a hierarchical team approach to instructional organization, and an instructional programing model for the individual student. Data were collected from a sample of 39 schools in eight States. Descriptive statistical analyses were utilized, and the range of scores and the median score for the various program elements were reported. (Pages 49 and 53 blank through printing error.) (Author)
