The primary purpose of the project was to rehabilitate public assistance recipients into gainful occupations, and to develop and demonstrate techniques for the utilization of rehabilitation aides. Initially, the project attempted to provide consultative services to the Statewide program for serving public assistance recipients and improving services through the utilization of rehabilitation case aides. During the course of the three-year expansion project, services were provided to 500 disabled DVR-Welfare recipients and/or applicants. (Author)
