Career Development Plan, 1973: Overview.
New York State Education Dept., Albany. Bureau of Guidance.
The purpose of the overview is to describe in narrative and graphic form, processes for incorporating career development activities in the educational program of local school districts which can be related to identifiable and measurable consumer objectives. Possible feasible and desirable outcomes are in the areas of decision-making skills, personal-social skills and job task skills. A career development model named "American Work Life Studies" is presented which can be used for training, orientation, and exploration as well as for analysis purposes. It utilizes a three-dimensional conceptual format of data-people-things, temperaments, and job clusters. A seven-stage strategy for creating a career development program is briefly discussed and presented through PERT charts. (MS)
