Significant Attributes of Effective Collegiate Instructional Climate.
This study provides data that would be useful in assessing and improving instructional climate at the university level. A total of 316 undergraduate and graduate students, representing 22 departments and colleges of the University of Colorado, completed an open-ended questionnaire. Responses were categorized into overall rank ordering of the attributes of an effective instructional climate, attribute clusters and interrelationships, interaction of personal faculty variables and responses, and interaction of personal student variables and responses. A listing of attributes of an effective instructional climate and their utilization are provided emphasizing the input-process, clusters and interacting variables, faculty-student agreement and disagreement, and a teaching-learning contract.
