Goals for the Schools of Kentucky.
The product and process goals for the schools of Kentucky are outlined in this brochure. The product goals relate to learning skills, an appropriate knowledge base, economic productivity and recreational satisfaction, functioning effectively as a citizen, human relations, and physical and mental health. The schools seek to attain process goals through processes that make each school: (1) sensitive and responsive to the needs of all students regardless of socioeconomic status, physical and mental abilities or limitations, ethnic origin, and religious beliefs; (2) a laboraroty for the practice of interpersonal relationships, democratic behavior, and individual self-realization; (3) strive for individualized learning opportunities for students in spite of the obvious limitations that permeate and condition mass education; (4) enjoyable, interesting, and challenging for youth who must spend a considerable portion of their formative years in it; (5) strive for an optimum mix of efforts to balance programming to meet individual, community, and societal needs; and (6) strive to become more efficient in the expenditure of human and material resources and time.
