Purdue Univ., Lafayette, IN. Office of Manpower Studies.
Data from 46,500 questionnaires were compiled out of a possible 78,000 sent to Indiana high school seniors. 75,315 of the seniors completed high school in the 1968-69 school year. Twenty-four questions were asked relating to characteristics of the high school senior, characteristics of the head of household, vocational and employment plans of seniors, reasons why some seniors do not intend further education or training immediately upon graduation, plans of seniors who do intend further education or training, and selected inter-relationships and comparative data. The report is a 45-page summary of the tables which append the document. The statistical tables are arranged according to the thirteen regions of the Indiana Vocational Technical College. Concluding the document is a list of the number of seniors in Indiana high schools, the number of seniors completing the questionnaire, their main occupational choice, a copy of the questionnaire, and a bibliography of Manpower reports.
