A program designed to increase the effectiveness of foreign language laboratory utilization by employing language laboratory aides in a city high school which has a large concentration of culturally disadvantaged pupils is described in this report. By providing laboratory aides, teachers have more opportunity to give individual attention to pupils who are in need of special help. The following aspects of the model Bay City Plan are examined: (1) specific objectives, (2) population served by the project, (3) description of project procedures, (4) project in operation, (5) evaluation procedures, (6) results of analysis of data, and (7) summary of findings. Appendixes contain various forms and evaluative statements made by administrative personnel involved in the program.
