For development of auditory skills, activities are assembled in the following categories (number of activities for each is noted in parenthesis): following directions (4), auditory discrimination (5), memory (7), auditory association (1), grammatic closure (2), and verbal expression (1). The activities given for improvement of visual skills are amassed in the categories of perception (1). discrimination (4), sequencing (2), memory (6), association (3), closure (2), motor (1), and ocular (2). Included in the section on motor development are the following categories: tactile discrimination (1), spatial organization (1), fine and gross motor control development (8), eye-hand coordination (4), following directions (1), tracking (2), balance (3), left to right sequencing (1), and directionality (6). Games are described in a separate section and deal with perceptual drill in addition combinations, phonics, spelling, vocabulary, and word patterns. [Reproduced from best available copy.] (MC)
