Careers in Teaching and Education.
This booklet, presenting information on careers in education and teaching, is addressed primarily to high school students and first- and second-year college students. A short history of teaching is presented along with a description of the essential nature of a teacher's work. Teaching situations and conditions are explained, with emphasis on the social and psychological rewards offered in the profession. Information is also given on teacher requirements and training, employment opportunities, salaries, and benefits. Some of the information has relevance to minority groups, particularly Jewish youth. The final sections of the booklet present some general information on the outlook for careers in education and provide addresses for further procurement of information.
