This study of social studies textbooks is an evaluation of twenty-five elementary and secondary level books in order to determine the extent to which they adequately reflect the multi-racial, multi-ethnic and pluralistic nature of our society, both past and present. Part I includes a full description of the study: its background, the methodology used, and a description and discussion of the results. Part II contains the complete set of textbook reviews upon which the findings in the report are based. Each of the textbooks included in the study is reviewed and rated by three individuals.
