Identifying and Correcting Reading Difficulties in Children.

This book was written primarily for the inservice elementary classroom teacher to assist in correcting the reading difficulties of the moderately disabled readers in the classroom. Five major divisions make up the book: (1) the various aspects of the reading process are discussed in the first section; (2) the second division describes many of the causes of reading difficulty and discusses how standardized and informal tests can be used for diagnostic purposes; (3) the third section deals with the correction of reading difficulties; (4) various approaches to elementary reading instruction are presented in the fourth section; and (5) the final section concerns the role of parents in preventing and helping to correct their children's reading difficulties.
