The purpose of the book is to discuss the nature and use of objectives, subject matter, learning activities, teaching strategies, and evaluation, in order to help teachers help students learn. Emphasis is placed on relating these elements in a systemmatic planning process. Particular emphasis is placed on teaching strategies for developing thinking, and teaching strategies for developing valuing. Illustrative examples are liberally used.
