Air Pollution. Part A: Analysis.
Ledbetter, Joe O.
Two facets of the engineering control of air pollution (the analysis of possible problems and the application of effective controls) are covered in this two-volume text. Part A covers Analysis, and Part B, Prevention and Control. (This review is concerned with Part A only.) This volume deals with the terminology, methodology, and symptomatology involved in the delineation of air pollution problems. It is hoped that it will assist the engineer, by providing information to political decision-makers, as well as in carrying out the control. General chapter headings include: Background for Analysis; Sources of Air Pollution; Atmospheric Transport of Pollutants; Statistics for Air Sampling and Analysis; Properties of Gaseous and Particulate Matter; Sampling--Theory, Equipment, and Techniques; Analytical--Theory, Equipment, Principles, and Techniques; Physical Analysis of Particles; Specific Tests; and Effects of Air Pollution.
