Ecology in the Classroom [Complete Kit].

Designed specifically for use in inner city schools, this ecology project for grades four through six attempts to help children develop an appreciation of the out-of-doors and an awareness of the natural features of their own environment. The eight-week project consists of units about interdependence, plants, pollination, insects and their relatives, birds, mammals, and other animals. A review session and field trip to a nature center are also included. This packet of materials contains: (1) notes about the project; (2) daily outline of the course; (3) procedures to implement the project; (4) suggested reading, references and activities; (5) discussion questions for each unit; (6) suggestions for exhibits, charts, and posters; (7) illustrations of three posters and a flannelboard story; (8) a weekly guessing game; and (9) diagrams, charts, and projects to reproduce for student's use.
