The concern for improving science education in Latin America is reflected in this document compiled by UNESCO offices in Chile, Uruguay, and Paris with financial support from UNICEF, and directed to Latin American science teachers. The first part deals with planning the reforms needed in science education and the practical considerations involved. The second part provides a general discussion of science education within the schools. Other topics covered here include UNESCO and UNICEF activities related to the improvement of science education in Latin America; the design; preparation, evaluation, and administration of science programs; the production, maintenance, and repair of scientific equipment; and the structure of a program for modernizing plans for scientific education.
