Among the most crucial problems facing young people today are decisions in the process of vocational development. This study was designed to determine if there are differences in certain aspects of vocational development among the groups of high school agriculture students who plan to enter on-farm agricultural occupations, those who plan to enter off-farm agricultural occupations, and those who plan to enter nonagricultural occupations. The population for this study consisted of all junior and senior students enrolled in secondary agricultural occupations programs in Illinois. Data were gathered using an instrument for personal, family, and community data related to the occupational and educational objectives of Illinois youth, Crites' Vocational Development Inventory, Super's Work Values Inventory, and Haller and Miller's Occupational Aspiration Scale. Forty-nine specific conclusions were drawn based upon the findings of the study, and the findings indicate that there are distinct differences in certain aspects of vocational development among high school agricultural occupations students.
