Teaching Science in an Outdoor Environment.

The purpose of this handbook is to provide suggestions for teaching science outdoors through the use of the California Natural History Guides. Specific references to the Guides are made throughout the handbook. Learning activities related to outdoor science education are grouped under the following topics: objectives, suggested activities, equipment, conceptual system, process/content, references to Guides, correlations with other curriculum areas, and related classroom learning activities. A glossary, selected references, a list of agencies and organizations to help with outdoor environmental education, a sample health form for an outdoor school, aids for developing objectives, a description of conceptual systems, and a 10-item bibliography are also included.
