Video Cartridge, Cassette and Disc Player Systems.
Quinn, Stanley F.
A symposium held in October 1971 in Montreal examined the new technology of video cassette systems and considered their likely impact on education, industry, and the home. There were four sessions: a perspective session dealt with the social and economic aspects of the new technology, a utilization session discussed plans and experiences of prospective users, and two technical sessions reviewed the technology of storing audio-video information and new information about videoplayer systems. Over twenty papers from the symposium are presented here; the matter of the multiplicity of systems standards receives particular attention in several of the papers. (JY)
