A Bibliography for Examination of Forms of Training for Scientific and Technical Work.
Oxley, John Howard, Comp.
This bibliography is the result of an intensive search through all available indexing and abstracting sources in the fields of library science, information science, documentation and computer science. The purpose is to support an investigation into the nature of an information worker and provisions for his education. The basis of selection was either the direct or inferential concern of the article with some form of information work, some type of personnel working in the information field, or with some aspect of the educational program directed at potential information workers. The bibliography is divided into two sections: the first, with addenda, represents those citations which in the opinion of the report author, contain useful material; while the second section represents ephemeral material or material not translated in a foreign language beyond the report author's competence. Although a few earlier articles are included, the earliest relevant articles cited date from 1945. Items cited are current to 1971. (Author/SJ)
