Operation-Analysis in Application to a Learning Technology for Schools. Final Report.

The task of this program was very extensive and could not be completed in the time allotted. A major and effective start has been made in every category of effort, and the foundations for the complete framework of the methodology of operation analysis for summarizing, and recovery of experimental reports have been laid. These include the following. (1) A basic terminology for the descriptive report of experimental procedures has been completed. (2) The greater than fourteen thousand-item literature in Psychological Abstracts on conditioning and simple discrimination learning has been reviewed, summarized, and coded. (3) Two further parallel procedures for the analysis of experiments and their findings have been developed. (4) A sample of the published literature has been operation-analyzed for adequacy, and already reported upon to the U. S. Office of Education. (5) The published literature on behavior modification of children up to December, 1965 has been analyzed and summarized. (Author/BW)
