A committee, representing both the House and Senate, presents statements and recommendations to amend the text of the bill S.659. The major subjects under discussion are: Title I. Higher Education; Title II. Vocational Education; Title III. Amendments Relating to the Administration of Education Programs; Title IV. Indian Education; Title V. Miscellaneous. Title VI. Investigation of Youth Camp Safety; Title VII. Emergency School Aid; Title VIII. General Provisions Relating to the Assignment or Transportation of Students; Title IX. Prohibition of Sex Discrimination; and Title X. Assistance to Institutions of Higher Education. The bill is an amendment to the Higher Education Act of 1965, the Vocational Education Act of 1963, the General Education Provisions Act (creating a National Foundation for Postsecondary Education and a National Institute of Education), the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA), and related acts.
