Public Higher Education in Hawaii: How to Enroll.
Scott, Robert A.
This report contains proposals for new admissions procedures and policies at institutions of higher education in Hawaii. The main proposal is concerned with setting up a statewide computer-assisted open admissions information and processing system that would relieve the individual institutions of a considerable amount of needless responsibility. A second proposal is for a common multiple preference application form for all institutions in the system. Presently, a person applying to 3 institutions within the system must fill out 3 separate application forms. The third proposal is for an admissions counseling and information system to aid self-selection by students. This system would provide information concerning an institution's programs, student body size, and campus openings. Suggestions for implementation of these proposals and indication of further work needed are contained in several appendices. (HS)
