The Use of SI Units.
British Standards Institution, London (England).
This booklet (referred to as PD 5686:1969) replaces the 1967 edition by including subsequent recommendations of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the General Conference on Weights and Measures (CGPM). The International System of Units (SI) is described and rules are given for the formation of derived units and decimal multiples and submultiples. The major part of this booklet is a list of the SI units for various physical quantities, the recommended multiples and submultiples of these units, and the non-SI units which may also be used. Further tables give definitions of derived SI units with special names, the value of some imperial units in terms of SI units, and related British Standards publications. (MM)
