This report helps school administrators to analyze and plan policies and programs for establishing community relations. Topics discussed include the frequency and nature of confrontations and the need for discussions to ward off conflicts, the various community groups involved, the issues at stake, and the outcomes and their contributing factors. Seventeen case studies illustrate several modes of conflict resolution employed in a variety of interactions with diverse groups. Study questions at the end of each case study assist the administrator to analyze actual or potential conflict situations in preparation for dealing more effectively with such situations in his own school or district.
