This third volume in the course on Chad Arabic emphasizes the active development of speaking skills in the target language. The active participation of the student requires imitation and induction of linguistic structures to a large extent. Some 45 units present grammatical material on gender, parts of speech, and verbs. Each unit contains a dialogue, notes, dialogue variations, and comprehension exercises. Two appendixes contain 35 supplementary dialogues dealing with situations which the student is likely to encounter among native speakers of Chad Arabic, and eight short stories recorded as told by a native speaker.
