Rat Behavior, Book A, Explorations in Biology.
Mid-Continent Regional Educational Lab., Inc., Kansas City, MO.
This booklet is part of a series which tests some skills biologists use in their investigations. A series of photographs of 3 rats in a Skinner box in which they had learned to obtain water by a bar-press response, but from which they receive rat pups, is used to present a puzzling event which students are asked to identify. Students indicate the order in which they would conduct a series of steps if they were biologists investigating the particular puzzling event that they chose earlier. A scrambled programed textbook format is used to direct students to other questions about the investigations. Some extracts from the literature are included in the sequence and these form the basis of other questions. Booklet B (SE 011 341) asks a series of questions about investigations of maternal behavior in rats. No time limit is indicated for this booklet. (AL)
