This book provides a comprehensive annotated bibliography of materials on individualized reading (IR). Sources include books, journal articles, conference papers, and master's and doctoral theses. An introductory chapter includes a discussion of what IR is, how an IR program is organized, problems related to an IR program, research on IR, when the IR approach is best employed, and how libraries are involved in an IR program. The bibliography section contains 648 numbered entries, alphabetized by the author's last name, dealing with research, discussions of method and programs, opinion statements, and case studies. Annotations are extensive enough to provide considerable information regarding the sources. An index includes subject references and references to authors other than first authors. (MS)
