CITY III Operator's Manual.
Envirometrics, Inc., Washington, DC.
CITY III is a computer-assisted simulation game of an urban system involving player operation of and interaction with economic, social, and government components. The role of operator in the game is to take the handwritten inputs (decisions) from the CITY III participants, process them, and return output which initiates the next round of decision-making. The CITY III package consists of two seven-track tapes, the master or program tape, and the data tape. The program was written for the Univac 1108, executive system eight. Input can be processed either by means of punched cards or a terminal input-output facility such as a teletype, but the output must be printed on a 132-character hardware printer. The procedures involved in obtaining a new round of output are described. Thirty-two job control statements are defined which, in prescribed combinations, can perform any of the operations in the CITY III repertory. Examples illustrate the sequence in which job control statements must be processed in order to execute all the programs in various combinations. The structure of the CITY III data tape is described.
