This 24-unit audiolingual course in Haitian Creole is prefaced a map of Haiti, an introduction providing an historical and cultural background of the language and its speakers, a description of the sound and grammar systems, and a summary of spelling rules. Units are made up of dialogs based on some phase of the culture, followed by grammar notes and exercises. English-Creole and Creole-English glossaries conclude the volume. Tapes to accompany the lessons are available from the Language Laboratory and Listening Center, Indiana University, Bloomington. A preliminary mimeograph edition of the first 12 units, in the form of a programmed workbook, 129 pages, is available in microfiche and hard copy. See ED 012 020. (AMM)
