Salaries of Engineers in Education, Special Report, 1970.
Engineers Joint Council, New York, NY. Engineering Manpower Commission.
This special report is based on the Engineering Manpower Commission of Engineers Joint Council's ninth survey of a series designed to give basic salary information on engineering graduates in the United States. One hundred seventy-two educational institutions provided data covering 10,333 engineering graduates. Salary figures were reported by employers via two questionnaires designed respectively for engineering graduates in supervisory and non-supervisory positions. Salaries are analyzed on the basis of years of experience, defined as the number of years since the baccalaureate degree. Graphic and tabular presentations show upper and lower decile and quartile salaries and the median salary by years since the baccalaureate degree. All information pertains to base salary and regular allowances only, and represents the salary structure in effect in July 1970. The report also contains a list of participating engineering institutions and a facsimile of the questionnaire for engineering graduates in supervisory positions. (LC)
