Newspaper Hebrew Reader. Volume One.
Mansoor, Menahem
This reader is designed to introduce the student to the language of the modern Hebrew Israeli press. It assumes on the part of the student a knowledge of the basic elements of modern Hebrew structure and a basic vocabulary usually covered during the first two years of college courses in modern Hebrew. Each unit is glossed in English independently of other units and is followed by various drills and exercises. Cumulative Hebrew-English and English-Hebrew vocabularies complete Volume One. This volume, which contains selections representative of front page news coverage, will be followed by Volume Two, containing reports, feature stories, and editorials. Also forthcoming is a two-part publication by the same author: "Modern Hebrew Literature Reader for Advanced Students." (AMM)
