Outdoor Education, Junior Biology Field Studies.
Aikman, John H.; And Others
Field studies for grade nine and ten biology students are developed in this teacher and student guide for outdoor education. A small section is devoted to teacher pre-planning and final sections are concerned with equipment, audio-visual resources, and a large booklist. Twenty-three investigations related to earth science and biology topics are enumerated including studies of field to forest transitions, lawns, trees, ravines, ponds and streams, marshlands and grasslands, plants and animals. Each unit of study provides instruction sheets giving its purpose, equipment required, procedures to follow, descriptive charts, and data recording sheets. A guidebook of similar design dealing with corresponding topics for use in grade 6, 9, and 10 general outdoor education programs is also available.
