Investigations Into Life Science.
Mentzer, Dean Samuel
This laboratory manual, containing 44 exercises, is intended to be used as part of an audio-tutorial approach to laboratory work in a life-science course for student nurses. Exercises include basic techniques of miscroscopy, microbiology, electrophysiology, routine biochemical analyses of blood and urine, and microscopic examination of prepared histological sections. There is a small number of experiments involving frog embryology, enzymatic digestion and radiation effects, and dissections of the heart, kidney, and digestive and respiratory systems. An appendix lists supplies needed for permanently equipping each audio-tutorial booth, and additional needs for each exercise. A bibliography of readings assigned for each term and a list of reference books for each section of the course are included. (AL)
