Planning the Teaching Environment: Secondary Science Facilities.
Reviews publications supporting the concept that carefully planned special characteristics of a classroom can facilitate desired activities both for the teacher and students. The author denotes these facilitating associations as the "suggestiveness of space," and applies the term "limiting conditions" to spacial characteristics which prevent particular activities. In designing science facilities the architect should be acquainted with the needs of the room which determine spacial requirements. A list of specific findings which help in designing better schools is provided. (PR)
