Classification, A Reference Guide for K - 6.
Dwyer, Robert L.
This source book for elementary teachers develops, through a variety of approaches, the concept of classification. Most of the publication consists of reproductions of published material that is currently available. No attempt has been made to establish a "program" or grade level curriculum. The book should be considered as a reference guide to classification. Topics presented include classification rationale, background for teachers, teaching overview, behavioral objectives, concepts, and supportive ideas. The samples of teaching materials are divided into five areas: Activities for Observing Properties, Activities for Grouping, Activities for Classifying, Textbooks, and Keys--A Way to Use Classification. This work was prepared under an ESEA Title III contract. [Not available due to marginal legibility of original document.] (BB)
