Personnel and Training Requirements for the ASR-21 Rescue Control Center.
DeLuca, Joseph F.; Noble, John F.
This report covers personnel and training requirements for Rescue Control Center (RCC) twin hull submarine rescue ships (ASRs). Skills and knowledge similar to those of a sonar technician (ST-0408) and a data system technician (DS-1666) are needed to operate the special sonar set and computer based system, but no suitable Navy training facility yet exists. The small number of personnel required to operate and maintain the RCC equipment calls for use of only one cycle of initial (factory) training for the ASR-21 and ASR-22. (Two figures and nine references are included.) (LY)
