Report on TTT Site Visits Conducted in November and December, 1969. An Overview.
Crockett, Walter H.; And Others
The first ten pages of this report give a brief overview of the Trainers of Teacher Trainers (TTT) Program and a description of the organization of the site visits. The remainder of the report summarizes the findings of the visits to 40 TTT projects by forty four-member teams. The four members of each team represent the four groups participating equally in each TTT project--schools of education, arts and sciences personnel, public schools, and the community. The major findings of the site visits were that a majority of the projects had achieved or were working toward equal participation by all four groups. This equal participation was considered to be the most important element of the program by most project directors and consultants, while most project staff gave this objective second priority. Their most important objective was instructional innovation. Considerable variation was found between projects in the type of participants. Some projects concentrated on teachers, others on teacher trainers, and still others on trainers of teacher trainers. The major strengths of the projects, as identified by site visitors, were their promotion of communication between groups and their development of innovative curricula.
