The Flow of (Behavioral) Science Information: A Review of the Research Literature.
Paisley, William J.
In examining the literature dealing with the information gathering and disseminating behavior of scientists, this review focuses on use studies to identify objectives and methods shared by investigators in the field, two studies deemed to be milestones on the road toward understanding scientific information flow, network studies which are concerned with interrelationships among communication artifacts without reference to the behavior of individual scientists, and, finally, the flow of scientific information to the public.
