Broadcasting and Social Action. A Handbook for Station Executives.
Cohn, Marcus, Ed.
A number of commercial and non-commercial stations have recognized their special responsibility to attempt to help society find a solution to the problems of minority groups. In this handbook, 51 case studies of special programing on the problems of minority groups are presented. The entry for each program gives the name of the station from which it originated, a brief description of its contents, and the names of the person to contact for additional information. The handbook also offers articles dealing with some of the interrelationships between broadcasting and current social crises. A bibliography is included which lists books and articles on the subject of racism and the mass media. (JY)
