The results of a survey conducted during the 1968-1969 school year by the State of Idaho Department of Education are reported. Twenty six thousand and forty three children with special handicaps were identified according to type of problem. Each counties' numerical delineation of children with learning problems, speech difficulties, hearing problems, physical handicaps, vision problems, behavior disorders, and the academically talented are listed along with characteristics, problems, and needs of each of the above handicapping conditions. Tables of data are included and a self check chart is provided to help a school district determine the kinds of services available. (WW)
