Evaluative Criteria for Elementary School Buildings.
The school district of Philadelphia has committed itself to a program of upgrading the quality of elementary educational program and facilities. To ascertain the degree to which the school district is succeeding in building schools to facilitate educational innovations is the major purpose of this study. Evaluation charts are used to determine the quality of the educational environment's physical characteristics. The charts are divided into the following sections--(1) general site evaluation, (2) the building, (3) the administrative suite, (4) classrooms, (5) special purpose rooms, and (6) miscellaneous features.
