An Evaluation of the Human Relations Training Program.

A Human Relations Training Program conducted with an experimental group of 150 educators from the Upper Cumberland Region in Tennessee is evaluated in this document. In an effort to assess the effects of the program, internal and external criteria, and matched control groups were utilized. The Personal Orientation Inventory, F Scale, Semantic Differential, Leary's Interpersonal Checklist, and the Motivation Analysis Test were used to measure internal criteria. Ryan's Rating Scale, the Michigan Picture Test, and the Leary Interpersonal Checklist were used to measure external criteria. A factor analysis was attempted to explain differential changes in behavior over a period of time. It was found that educators exposed to Human Relations Training become less authoritarian and more self-actualized. They develop better interpersonal relationships in addition to developing greater self-insight and leadership skills. These individuals were also perceived more positively by their supervisors and their students.
