This publication describes the administration, course content, and organization of the English Advanced Placement Program in New York state. Administrative concerns include the time, educational resources, and number of students necessary for a successful course; the qualifications of the teacher; the ability and interest of the student; and methods of marking advanced course papers. The literary concepts--e.g., the speaker and point of view, form, and style--to be covered in the course are presented as well as the aims of the instruction in composition and language.
