Educational Television. Special VTR Issue.
Educational Television, v1 n7 May 1969
Four articles focusing on various aspects of videotape recorders form the main body of this journal. The first article discusses the variety of portable models available, presenting a limited amount of data on the recorders favored by educational institutions. The second article compares the low cost, helical-scan recorders to quadruplex machines, discussing the relative advantages and disadvantages of the former type of machine and providing suggestions intended to improve and extend its service. The third article considers the use by small colleges of videotapes produced by large universities for their own closed-circuit instructional systems. The final article suggests procedures for the handling and storage of videotape which are intended to preserve the signal recorded on the tape and to extend the life of the tape itself. (LS)
