Merlo, Frank P.
It is noted that in any planning process for community colleges, physical facilities are only an adjunct to the instructional program, and any types of facilities that evolve should be based on the nature of the students, the curriculum, and the general philosophy and operation of the college. A list is presented as a suggested guide for questions to be considered in planning the following components of comprehensive community college facilities--(1) site, (2) buildings, (3) general purpose instructional areas, (4) special purpose instructional areas, (5) drama department, (6) student center, (7) administrative facilities, (8) guidance center, (9) faculty areas, (10) custodial and maintenance facilities, (11) student health facilities, (12) bookstore, (13) library and (14) facilities for evening programs.
