A further objective was to provide a cadre of new professional teachers coming into the school system prepared to deal with problems that arise as a result of total desegregation." Participants in this inservice program were 60 teachers, 40 critique teachers, 20 student teachers, and a group of children from poverty areas in Houston whom provided the "laboratory experience" for this one-year effort.
