August 2005 marks the 75th year of production for the "Community College Journal". The mission of the journal since its founding has been to bring valuable news and information to the membership of the American Association of Community Colleges. Considering its longevity, it appears the "Community College Journal" has successfully accomplished that task and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. Working for the success of community college students is a main focus of the association and the 1,158 colleges that comprise its membership. On the occasion of its 75th anniversary, the "Community College Journal" shares with its readers the triumphs of some of the notable alumni that have made community colleges part of their higher learning choices for over 100 years.
