"Peas 'N Rice" or "Rice 'N Peas"-- Which One Are We Really Ordering?: The Plight of African American Male Students Engaged in Educational Exchange Processes.
White-Johnson, Adair F.
Urban Education, v36 n3 p343-73 May 2001
Explored the perceptions of African American male students who chose to leave a traditional academic setting for an alternative education program within the same setting. Data from students, parents, and teachers indicated that teachers and educational leaders failed to incorporate the relevancy of African American male students into the classroom environment (dysconscious racism).
